Where To Find Maternity Clothes in Buffalo, NY

I'll say it again. Shopping during your pregnancy sucks. But it doesn't HAVE to. It's just you need to think outside the box a little bit more. We don't have many options for maternity to shop in-person throughout the Buffalo-area but I have a list here for you mamas who need to know where to find things!

Dedicated Maternity Stores

Destination Maternity: CLOSED 2020. Really the only place in WNY that carries maternity clothing for everyone with everything: work wear, casual, pajamas, bras...I prefer to buy my jeans, basic solid dresses, and tanks here. The last one remaining is on Walden Ave. As of 2/21/20 there is 50-70% in store and an additional 20% off if you purchase 8 or more items. Main + Downing: This new and super adorable baby and kid shop in Hamburg also has a small section of maternity dresses and robes. I saw some great striped dresses that are perfect to wear with blazers or jean jackets!coming soon....Baby & Me: This Lewiston shop already carries great brands for baby items and they're adding maternity clothing this Spring so stay tuned!

Non-Maternity Stores With Great Options To Fit Your Bump

Free People: Located inside the Walden Galleria, you can find loose-fitting tops that flow perfectly with your baby bump. Same goes for Anthropologie. I love getting my sweaters there- you can wear things postpartum, too. I can usually wear my longer, looser pieces until 'the end'.Blush: A non-maternity store but you can find blazers, kimonos, and loose-fitting tops. I am obsessed with my pink blazer from here! They have easy locations for everyone: Williamsville, Orchard Park, and East Aurora. My favorite part is ordering online and requesting an in-store pickup. So dang easy!acs_0035Research and Design: A non-maternity store but you can find pieces that work for you! I picked up a couple dusters and lightweight sweaters here that are cozy and go with everything. Great for 1st and 2nd trimester.Half & Half: In Elmwood Village, you can find some pieces that will work with your bump if you style them properly. The girls at Half & Half can help you find some loose and flowy looks which are good for 1st and 2nd trimester.

Bras & Undies

Soma: I found some very comfortable non-wire bras (non-maternity, non-nursing) in the Walden Galleria location. I really liked the wire-free bras the best and bought them in nude and black. I went up two undies sizes in the high-waist cut so they fit above my belly button, too. The nursing bras you typically need to order online but their return/exchange policy is easy.Blum's: They recently have added maternity bras so stay tuned for more details! They also do fittings (no scheduling needed) and will help you find bras that are great for nursing and non-nursing mamas. They have undies, too!The Care Connection: This lactation wellness center has bras for nursing and breastfeeding. Check out their services and classes that include Infant CPR, pumping at work, and private lactation consulting. They also provide maternity/nursing bra fittings.

*stay tuned for a bigger post on maternity bras and

how to get fitted properly!

Maternity Selection Within a Store

Target: Many people prefer to shop here for some maternity finds. I have not been able to find anything that works for my body but that is why it is always good to have choices for all! Watch out for ill-fitting pieces with any bigger box stores...the selection here is also small and very basic.Kohl's: Same as above, although I have grabbed some very sexy underwear that is nude-colored and high-waisted. lol! Hey, it is more comfortable for me and doesn't cut off my tummy. I cannot stand underwear underneath my belly so I opt for the big boys.LOFT: Our LOFT stores do not have maternity in-store but you can order and have it sent to your home or the store so you can try on. Chat with the girls at Walden Galleria and tell 'em I sent ya!H&M: The Walden Galleria location has a small maternity section for a few basics and usually I see some cute overalls there! I have only purchased tunic styles that work in 1st and 2nd trimesters (non-maternity).Fashion Outlets of Niagara Falls: You can also scope out H&M and Old Navy for some non-maternity pieces at affordable prices. I find things here that works up until those last two months of hugeness!

Consignment Maternity Shops

Moms N' Tots: Located in Tonawanda, this is a consignment shop for maternity wear and kids clothing.Finders Keepers: This is another children and maternity consignment stop for those wanting to good deals. You can find them in Williamsville.Kid to Kid in Tonawanda: There is small maternity section so you may find a goodie here. A follower mentioned on Mondays there are maternity sales, too.word of caution...I have attempted several times to give my maternity items to Clothes Mentor but they never, ever seem to accept maternity pieces. Weird. BUT remember- we have other options plus we have great non profits in WNY that really need these items for expecting Moms.

*post not sponsored by any companies or businesses listed above. my research is solely based on personal experience and taking the time to go all over WNY to find what works for pregnant women!
