Balanced Body Foods: Beau’s Meal Prep Cheat

img_7631.jpg

Sunday is my day with my girls (and soon my boy as well). I am able to workout as much as I want until 11am then typically I spend an hour of speed cleaning around the house. At noon we take off for some sort of mini family adventure for the day and get back around 6 or 7pm for dinner and then...yes...bed at 8pm. No where in there did I mention two to three hours of meal prep for the week. That's because I cheat. When Chloe and I are out taking on the world, Balanced Body Foods delivers my breakfast, lunch, and guilty pleasure snacks for the week. It's so freaking sweet and convenient that it feels like cheating.Great proportions all ready to be heated and served. Now as a full time dad, husband, Financial Advisor, and in pursuit of being a triathlete- time is a precious commodity. I am creating the habit of waking up at 4, 4:30am because we have baby #2 about to arrive any day. Depending on the day, I am either running, swimming, at Athletes Unleashed for crossfit or at Rise Fitness Studio teaching spin until about  7am. Then I head home for breakfast with Chloe and off to work. These days, I am running a caloric deficit because I want to lose weight. This is where Balanced Body saves my ass because you can't out-train a diet. I need to hit my daily targets- protein, fat, and carbohydrates. So my go-to day will look like this:

  • Breakfast:
    • Balanced Body Foods Protein Pancakes
    • Protein shake/smoothie
    • Coffee (lots of it)
  • Lunch:
    • Balanced Body Foods Big Mac Wrap (all damn day)
  • Snack:
    • Balanced Body Foods Protein Balls
  • End my day anywhere between 4 and 6:30pm (depending on my appointments)
  • Hit another one hour workout which varies each day then cook a family dinner at home.

I’m obsessed with all of Balanced Body’s pancake options. Filling and taste good. Our go-to dinner at home is usually turkey tacos on corn tortillas with romaine hearts off the grill. If calories are left, I will devour the Balanced Body Foods cheesecake. During a calorie deficit, I aim for 1,550 calories a day and on intense training days it's 2,000. I plan out daily nutrition intake the night prior and work my dinner around  breakfast and lunch from Balanced Body...because the macros are on the label. How easy, right? Sooooo I really only need to plan one meal a day. Suck it up buttercup- you can handle dinner.Balanced Body has nutrition labels to help you track your dayQuick recap (as I stuff my face with a Vegan Ranger cookie. yes, they even have flippin' cookies). I am trying to be in the competitive world of triathlons. How do you balance that with plenty of other full time obligations? You prioritize what is important to you and know your weaknesses because guess what If you are ready to commit and stop whining- you have 24 hours in the day. My point is I will never meal prep. I just won't. And I need to eat how I train. So I turned to Ashley and Justin from Balanced Body Foods and now? No more excuses, Beau. Throw your backpack over the wall and go all all in.Deuces. -Beau**Step it up. Check out Balanced Body for yourself. Use BUFFALOVEBIRDS10 online at checkout to get 10% off your first order.
