Everyone seems shocked at how much there is to do, see, and eat in Buffalo nowadays and you guys already know we are BIG cheerleaders in spreading that word. With the nice weather finally here, there is even more to explore and I chatted with a couple Buffalo mama girlfriends on what we think is the best of the best happening right now! Lindsay from Aratari At Home and Sarabeth from The February Fox have their lists up, too, so head on over to their blogs to check out what they think!
The Perfect Date Night Restaurants
The Grange: The warm vibe here is welcoming and delicious. Only 20 minutes outside of downtown Buffalo, The Grange sits in the heart of the village of Hamburg and their menu never disappoints. Our favorite time is Saturday brunch with their mouth-watering baked goods and at dinner the must-order is the Double Cheeseburger (trust us).Roost: Located on the West Side of Buffalo, Roost is an innovative hot spot that has an ever-changing menu that surprises your palette every time you step in the door. Each menu change has a full theme from apps to dessert so you will never get bored on your night out here.
Places You Must Visit
Albright Knox Art Gallery: Our premier and gorgeous art gallery museum holds treasures from Van Gogh, Matisse, Monet, and Picasso. They rotate special exhibits- many of which include an interactive and tangible experience ideal for all ages. The gallery also has the public art initiative that runs throughout Buffalo so getting in some fun selfies is a 'must'. Check out the murals you can visit around town.Canalside: An outdoor space filled with concerts, free outdoor workout classes from local boutique gyms, food trucks, water sports, a beer garden...this space sits on our waterfront and has everything for an individual or family to do all in one spot!
Outdoor Activities
Food Truck Tuesday: Every Tuesday during the warmer season, the unique Larkin Square has a massive food truck event with live music that draws thousands. With over 25 trucks each week, you will not be at a loss for trying something new or finding your new fav street food.Explore Buffalo tours: If you want to really dig in to the Buffalo region and learn some cool fun facts and get in to spaces you usually cannot, you MUST book an Explore Buffalo tour. You can do walking, water, kayak, art tours, architecture...it's a great way to see new things and get a true sense of our local history.
Cool Shops
Oxford Pennant: Born and raised right here in WNY, Oxford Pennant has a storefront in downtown on Main St. and you can pick up a pennant with a sassy saying, something super Buffalo-y, attire, home decor, and enamel pins to show off. This local manufacturing company designs and makes their pennants in Buffalo which are used by brands all over the globe!Molly + Kate: Did you hit up The Grange? Yay! Now walk across the street to Molly + Kate to score some home decor, clothing, accessories, and tableware. This gem of a shop is perfect for yourself or to get gifts. And soon they are opening a baby/kid shop in town called Main + Downing!
Family Fun
With the older kids: The one-stop shop? Buffalo Riverworks. There is ziplining, kayak rentals, high ropes course, and rock climbing all in one spot. There is even an outdoor beer garden and restaurant with a great second level patio that overlooks the Buffalo River. With the younger kids: Explore & More is Buffalo's children museum and it is brand new to downtown!
